Overview

    Why join our trip to Jebel Akhdar? 

    • Spending most of our time at 2500m above seal level, It is 15 degrees cooler than Dubai/Muscat making it an idea location to go to from May to October 
    • Famous for its terraced orchards where pomegranates, apricots and roses grow in abundance due to its mild Mediterranean climate. 
    • It received around 300mm of precipitation annually, moist enough to allow the growth of shrubs and trees and support agriculture that gives the mountains their "green" name, making it a surprising oasis to the hot surroundings.

        Important notes
          • Physical rating: Moderate physical activities are included, and a good level of fitness is required. 
          • Visa requirements if coming from UAE: Visas (if needed) will be obtained at the border for UAE work visa holders with passport valid for more than 6 months and visa valid for more than 3 months visas. 
          • Start/Finish:
          • Important details for transport: 
            • A 4x4 vehicle is needed to reach Jebel Shams. Please book our 4x4 transport if you don't have one. 
            • If you have a loan on your car, you will need to get a NOC from your bank/dealership to be able to cross the border to Oman. You will also need Oman insurance for your car which you can get on the border if you don’t have one.
            • You are not allowed to take a car that is not under your name unless you have a RTA permit. 
            • Please make sure you check with the Omani border for the latest rules as the rules keep changing and we are not responsible for the border crossing part.

            • Backpack suitable for hiking (that can fit water & snacks)
            • Beach Towel
            • Earplugs (for light sleepers)
            • Water Bottle or hydration pack (Min. 2L) - to reduce plastic usage
            • Waterproof Phone Cover (optional)

            • Vehicle license
