As the highest mountain in Oman and the entire Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jebel Shams translates to "Mountain of the Sun" in Arabic, capturing the beauty of the stunning sunrises and sunsets experienced from its peaks. The trail, with a duration of approximately 5-6 hours round trip, take you through rugged terrain and picturesque landscapes, showcasing deep gorges and scenes of awe-inspiring natural beauty.

Jebel Shams serves as a refreshing escape from the warmer climates of cities like Dubai and Muscat, with temperatures being 12 degrees cooler, rendering it an ideal destination year-round. Accessible primarily by 4x4 vehicles (unless you're willing to risk damage to your sedan), the absence of asphalt adds to the charm of this pristine location.

Infusing a historical touch into the adventure, the Jebel Shams Balcony Walk is home to the abandoned village of Al Khitaym, providing a captivating glimpse into historical architecture and cultural heritage. As trekkers traverse the trail, they also encounter a tranquil water pool, further enhancing the overall experience and offering moments of serenity amid the rugged surroundings.
